How to migrate accounts to our Server Print

  • 79

The majority of our clients did not have root access to their previous server; only those who had vps did. As a result, in order to relocate accounts from the previous server to our server, customers must manually transmit backups to our server.

Before we go any further, there are a few things to check:

  • Make sure your WHM username is the same as the one used on the previous server. This is because your sub-accounts on the previous server had the package name (yourWHMusername)_ (xyzpackage). Accounts are restored under (yourWHMusername) during the restoration procedure. They are placed under root if (yourWHMusername) does not exist on the server. As a result, the old username should match the previous server username to ensure that accounts are assigned to the correct WHM.
  • If you have resellers, transmit the WHM account backup first (Reseller account Cpanel backup). Otherwise, because its reseller (owner) does not exist on the server, accounts come under root if reseller sub-clients of that WHM are restored first (1st point).

To send a backup of the cpanel account to our server, Open Cpanel > Backup > Download Full Website Backup > Select Option "Remote FTP Passive mode" and enter the following details:
Host: Our IP
Port: 21
Username: Your Username on our server
Pass: Your account pass on our server
Destination: /

That concludes our discussion. Open tickets in the Technical department once you've sent all of the backups so that we can restore all of your accounts.

Note: If you have any reseller accounts, please include them in the list at the top so that we can restore them first. (See also Point 2)

All restoration is completed within 24 hours of an opening ticket. So do corporate with us meanwhile.

*NOTE:  Only the first 5 accounts are restored for FREE.  The remaining accounts are charged at $0.5 per account.
