Live broadcasting to AzuraCast lets you stream directly to your station and engage with your audience in real-time. If your station does not require AutoDJ, follow this guide to set up and start live broadcasting.
Step 1: Install and Configure a Live Encoder
To broadcast live, you’ll need a compatible live encoder. Here are some popular free options:
- Rocket Broadcaster (Windows)
- BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool) (Windows, macOS)
- LadioCast (macOS)
Any software that supports Shoutcast or Icecast connections will work. Download and install your preferred live encoder before proceeding.
Step 2: Disable AutoDJ
To avoid conflicts, ensure AutoDJ is disabled before connecting.
How to Disable AutoDJ
- Log in to your AzuraCast panel using your station’s credentials.
- Go to your station’s dashboard by clicking Manage under the Station Overview section.
- Navigate to
AzuraCast > Profile > View Profile
. - Find the AutoDJ Service block and click Stop if AutoDJ is running.
This ensures your live stream won’t be interrupted by AutoDJ.
Step 3: Retrieve Your Streaming Connection Details
To connect your encoder, you’ll need your Source Username, Password, Port, and Mount Point.

Navigate to
AzuraCast > Profile > View Profile

Locate the Broadcasting Service block and copy the Username and Password under “Source.”
Find your Station’s Port and Mount Point under the “Service” block. It will look like this:

Once you have these details, you’re ready to configure your live encoder.
Step 4: Configure Your Live Encoder

Open your live encoder software.

Find the settings section for Server/Connection Details.

- Server/Host/IP: Your AzuraCast server URL (e.g.,
cast.gossdhosting.com
) - Port: Your station’s port number from Step 3 (e.g.,

Step 5: Start Live Broadcasting
Now that your encoder is configured, you’re ready to go live.
- Open your encoder software.
- Click the "Start Streaming" or "Broadcast" button.
- Your live broadcast will now stream directly to your AzuraCast radio station.

- If you experience connection issues, verify that your port, mount point, and password are correct.
